Horrible company
Originally signed a 5 year contract. 8 months before the 5 year contract expired they contacted me that I needed to upgrade my system in order to continue being serviced.
The upgrade would cost me hundreds of dollars. I declined as I paid $300 for a lifetime guarantee on my device. They said they would upgrade my system for free if I agreed to extend my contract for another 5 years. I declined, BP Alarms is horrible, I would never agree to renew.
I expressed my desire to cancel since they would not be able to do or provide any services.
They declined and said I needed to pay the remaining five months in my original contract.
Once the five-year contract expired, they auto renewed my contract for an additional year, although I had expressed very clearly vividly that I wanted to cancel. Still refused to cancel the contract and has stolen hundreds of dollars from me while providing me absolutely no services.
They are thieves who have the worst possible customer service.
- Provide no services
- Refuse to cancel
- Horrible customer service
Preferred solution: A full refund for all months not serviced and a contract cancellation. I don’t ever want to deal with them again.
User's recommendation: Save yourself, do NOT sign anything with these people.
Will not let you cancell, does not give you any service.
- Prey on confusing the elderly
- Not licenced in ca according to dca gov
- Providing no service
Preferred solution: Finally end service and be rid of them. Have tried 3 times and still will not end a service I do not have a contract for. System has been removed, so they are not providing me with any service.
User's recommendation: Stay far away from this company and do not sign anything with them.
Doesn't honor cancelling agreement
Preferred solution: Full refund
Put on a nice comment for the help Of service ..
User's recommendation: Of Course highly recommendation GOOD. SERVICE ..
I couldn't cancel the contract!
- Fair price
- Low integrity
- No actual store to go talk to anyone
- Looks like business model is trapping the customer
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Pass if you want confidence in service. Buy if you 'just need something'.

Auto renewal is not only becoming very common with a multitude of companies but is, of course a great way to scam customers. You need to read very carefully any and all "contracts" for services nowadays and if it says anything resembling "auto renew" then stay away from them.
In your case, if they charge your credit card monthly, just cancel the card and get another with a new number, etc. so they cannot continue to charge you each month.
You shot yourself in the foot by not following the terms of the contract ; be honest, did you read it thoroughly BEFORE signing ? Those automatic renewals are entirely preventable ; you must simply follow the terms of the contract you signed.
You must submit a written statement of non renewal intention, serve it via Certified Mail return receipt requested (VERY important) and do so within the allotted time. When you see a contract containing "automatic renewal" , the best thing to do is fire off that letter immediately and contact your credit card company to deny any further charges by this provider - and be aware, they may try to charge you 6-8 weeks BEFORE the expiration of your one year.
This practice is DISGUSTING and designed to snare people who don't read the paper. Terminix tried that on us but I acted properly as described above ....
